Talk to a young person

As a young mentor, you will provide support to another young person to help them overcome challenges they may be facing. A good listener with personal experience of spinal cord injury, you will support another young person to feel more positive about their life. Having ‘been there’ yourself, you can share your experiences and help another young person with questions they may have about living with a spinal cord injury.

During the training weekend you will:

  • Learn what listening skills are and why they are important
  • Develop your own listening skills to be able to help others
  • Learn about how to keep a safe relationship with someone you are supporting
  • Meet and learn from other people in a similar situation (young people and adults).
